How to ADD or DROP Tata Play Channels using WhatsApp

The most recent Tata Play app update removed the option to add or drop individual channels. Now, you only have the option to choose complete packs. Instead of adding more features, they’ve decided to remove some. Classic Big Tech move.

If you are also finding it difficult to add or drop a single channel or a group of channels that are not part of a pre-configured pack, then you can follow these steps mentioned in this post to the same using WhatsApp.

Step 1: Save the Tata Play WhatsApp number 1800 208 6633 as a contact on your phone. This way, you can easily locate Tata Play in your WhatsApp.

Step 2: Open the WhatsApp app on your phone, select the Tata Play contact. Then, type and send ADD followed by the channel number that you want to ADD.

For example, if you want to add the channel number 101, then you would send the following text:

ADD 101

Similarly, if you want to drop a channel, replace the word ADD with DROP.

For example, if you want to drop the channel number 101, then your message would be:

DROP 101

Step 3: If you have multiple Set Top Boxes (STBs) or multiple connections under one Tata Play account, then you’d have to add your Box ID as well in your message. You can find your Box ID by clicking the yellow button on your remote. Look at the bottom-right of the screen, it should say your Box ID.

If your Box ID is 8008, then, in order to add the channel number 101 with the (Set Top) Box ID 8888, you would send the following message:

ADD 101 8008

Similarly, if you want to drop the channel number 101 with the (Set Top) Box ID 8008, then your message would be:

DROP 101 8008

I hope this has helped you.
